Marketo Engagement Program Tip 4/n
Use the Test Stream option to test stream content on a test lead before launching the program.
In just a few clicks, Test Stream allows you to run or mimic the nurture scripts. It is one of the easiest and highly recommended ways to ensure that -
All the content in a stream is lined up and arranged correctly. The last thing you'd want is to have the content misplaced in a stream, ultimately disrupting the purpose of a strategically designed nurture program.
The send email campaigns of nested default content programs are set up correctly.
Other operational tracking/update campaigns are functioning correctly or not. These could be -
1️⃣ Campaign to transition people between the program Streams
2️⃣ Campaigns to add people as members of relevant nested default programs so it can be skipped in the subsequent casts when the required criteria/level of engagement are met.
3️⃣ Other operational campaigns to manage the overall nurture cadence, field updates, etc.
Small caveats/things to be aware of while using the test stream option -
The email communication limits apply to the records you process via the Test Stream functionality. Override this at the send email campaign level while you're testing.
Test Stream works even if the engagement program status is off.
Engagement towards the content sent via the Test Stream option does not count towards the program's performance or any of the metrics displayed on the program dashboard.
The test record used in the test stream will be added as a member (if not already) of the engagement program.
Tip: Once you're done testing the program, you can remove all your test record(s) from the program, so they don't flow through nurture transitions unnecessarily. Do this by changing their program status to “Program Channel” > “Not in Program.”
The test record should be email-able to receive the non-marketing emails (in almost all cases nurture emails are set up as the normal marketing emails and not as the operational emails).
