Keep your Marketo-CRM sync as "Zippy" as possible ⚡
-> Don't sync unnecessary entities
Syncing more than what's needed has almost never helped anyone, and you can update the permissions in the future in case you need to have certain data synced over to Marketo after the initial sync, anyway.
-> Carry out batch updates during the downtime
Bulk data updates during work hours when the instance is processing live traffic is a surefire way to put a strain on the system, leading to slower syncs. Schedule those larger batch updates during the dark hours.
-> Keep records in Marketo (or CRM) until a certain stage if your business can live with it
There's no point in syncing pre-MQL, early-stage, or certain identified records over to the CRM if it's not going to benefit your operations team. Certain businesses would need to have complete bi-directional sync between platforms to suit their needs, but if you're not one of them, then don't mind syncing over until required.
-> Evaluate the sync configuration from time to time
To keep the sync zippy, scrutinize the setup periodically, remove permissions, or stop syncing entities you no longer need to sync between platforms.
